My Future, with Gaming.

For those from my personal Blog, this is not new news. Those who only read me on this, some somewhat sad news. I am formally dropping iOS and Onlive Gaming; the former is because I am getting rid of my iPod Touch (still in returns period) and the latter is because Onlive is just a bit shit for the money.

There will be no more reviews from both systems after this Friday with the reviews of Arkham City (Onlive) and Arkham City Lockdown (iOS) being my last reviews of both systems and if you have seen the “What’s Coming” page you’ll notice that I have no reviews booked to come, instead I’m going to focus on features and a preview of DOTA2, yes… I said DOTA2, I’m not under any NDA and the copy I have is a full, personal owned copy from the Steam Winter Sale Giveaway. I say full, it’s the same as the NDA beta, but I do own it and I have not signed anything and I read the EULA twice, it’s mine and I can do whatever I want with it.

I will post reviews of PC, Android games and Films, TV again, but not as often. I will also remain using the out of 100% scoring system.

My Future With The Big Nerd Show…

I am one half of the founders of The Big Nerd Show, but life sin’t always goping to be and go the way we think it will. I hinted that Portal 2 is my last games review, that’s not 100% true. I have posted the last of my pre-writen reviews with Portal 2 being the last. The Portal 2 review  has had a storied history. I wrote it by the end of the Friday on the week it came out. It was going to be “used” on the Podcast, but the podcast has been plauged with problems, namely, I can only record in the daytime on my days off as I work full time and Skazz can only record at 8pm onwards due to kids, but I’m married and I have to spend time with my wife, we’re going through IVF.

 

The main reason why I’m not going to be write as many games reviews from now on is the whole family thing. Well between that, my work and the fact that I’m a film maker and I really want to get back to film making in my spair time and that’s pushing gaming out a little. Don’t get me wrong I will be posting the odd game review here and there. However the future will see me write more and more about other aspects of nerd life. Like Comics (which I read on my phone), Movies, TV Show (I have had a lot of fun with my nerd view posts) and so on. I do plan on reviewing games, but no more video reviews from me (I uninstalled Fraps). I hope the readership can understand this.

Just made my mind up to write a short “About Me” post: I’m a Former Pro PC Gamer of the Old Days (Quake, Q2, Q3, UT, CS, TF, etc), now married and a “real” job. Boo. I’m gong through IVF treatment (we want mini-me’s). I’m a Android based phones and I’m not, I repeat not a iPhone/iPod/Apple fan at all, ever, shut up. I love squirrels, infact I believe one day Squirrels will run this blog and steal our voices for Podcast, the webshow we be our dead bodies used like Muppets… You know the truth, can you live with it?

That’s about it for now.
